Knipex Cobra are good pump pliers and the adjustment mechanism has never slipped on me unlike inferior slip joint pliers. Bahco make good adjustable spanners for plumbing work or general use, obviously if you're working on cars you'd be using normal combination wrenchs of a fixed size 🔧 When it comes to spanners, once you go over a certain size you might as well just get a big adjustable as it gets expensive to buy single big spanners, the biggest I've got is 36mm and a big adjustable that goes up to 80mm.
