I do t think Proton ever said they wouldn’t work with their (Swiss) govt.
You don’t use Proton if your threat model involves hiding from nation states. In fact, you don’t use *email* if that’s the case.
You DO use Proton to prevent your data from being *sold*. Same with Tuta and other paid providers.
