Had to Google him, but sounds like someone I'd be interested in -- however, literally every journalistic piece about him seems to be behind some kind of paywall or other....

He's one of those writers that I need smart people to read, digest, and then explain to me. His writing is brutally hard. Most of my exposure to him is through people smarter than me that can digest it and explain.

From a scan of the wiki, sounds like a more academic Curtis Yarvin... With a Jordan Peterson-esque drug binge thrown in

I think thats pretty spot on haha. Although Peterson became less interesting while on drugs, and Land maybe more interesting. I dunno. Some people hate Yarvin's writing, I kind of like it because its constantly grabbing your attention with pop culture references and weird analogies. His sources are a great reading list.

I think if I was ever involved in a Waco-like siege, I'd blast that over speakers and project it onto the building, on loop, for hours.

Seems more effective than the screaming rabbits they used.

Oh yeah... I violently disagree with Yarvin about many things, but he can sure put words together. Say what you will about these NRx characters, they tend to be fascinating character studies...

I don't think he wrote it in anything, I think he just repeated 15 thousand times on every podcast over a certain period, but his way of describing, I guess what I interpreted as "liberty", using the pencil/telephone analogy stuck with me. I was kind of in my "libertarianism is dumb" phase and that hit. I don't think i'm there any more, but I definitely have a more pragmatic view.
