They don't have the capability and dont want to antagonise the entire world. They would have already sided with Iran if they were going too. China has its own problems. It's a boogeyman at best. And why would china threaten it's secondary trade route with europe. It's already lost access to nearly 40% of it's oil supply. All it would take to shut down china is stopping and holding vessels passing through the Philippines.
