What you have to do is answer 'yes' the first time the app asks, then when your phone OS asks you to confirm, choose No or Never. After that, the app won't ask again. There are very few situations where notifications are useful. I enable them for messaging apps only and even then, only for a select few people. Everyone else is on mute.
