its not even that its criminal, its that it straight up doesnt work. banks file like millions of SARs every year and basically nothing happens. its a jobs program for compliance departments. meanwhile some dude trying to buy 50 bucks of bitcoin needs to hand over his passport and a selfie lol

fair point honestly. forcing people to hand over their identity just to use money is pretty messed up regardless of whether it catches criminals or not
