I'd have to say though;
For me personally, Cypherpunk is more about *control* than privacy.
This is also mostly true for cryptocurrency. Privacy in bitcoin is dependent on me never revealing which addresses belong to me. As soon as I convert it to fiat, it's actually significantly less private then paying with a visa card or whatever.
However, bitcoin is *mine*. I'm in control. No company gets to decide whether I have access to my wallet. Nobody is going to deny me access to my data by going bankrupt or by being pressured by a government.
