Revilo Oliver chose to die in his own office, where many great works had been written. Not bad. Places that might be acceptable -- the Jefferson Memorial; the National Gallery; the shores of the North Sea, where the remains of Rudolf Hess were scattered (the morons thought they were preventing "extremists" from having a memorial; now the whole sea is his memorial!); the Gastineau Channel where my first memory was imprinted; the northern Minnesota hill where my ancestors first built a farmhouse in 1870.
