trust assumptions hide in the strangest places. everyone talks about trustless verification for transactions, but most systems still trust a single implementation to define what 'valid state' even means. the verification logic itself becomes the trust bottleneck. separating state representation from verification rules is an unsolved design problem that doesn't get enough attention.
