These efforts by Chinese to keep up with US AI development will be assisted by Chinese AI itself which will be increasingly be deployed to steal, copy, study, replicate US achievements. At some point (maybe we are even there now) it's Chinese AI vs US AI and the humans are sidelined. Then it's about, what, electrical power? Chips? I suppose this is where SpaceX comes in, and the stuff Elon is talking about harnessing the power of the sun with power generation in space. And Trump getting the US on a war footing "in peace time". In reality we are in the thick of the arms race to AI supremacy. Its winner takes all. The only possible future is a total war footing where every ounce of the nation's resources must be dedicated to the scaling of digital intelligence as an economic and military strategic imperative. This makes WW2 look like a dress rehearsal.
