Adam may be one of the best experts on the issue of spam in the context of freedom in the digital domain. After all, he invented one of the most important technologies used in Bitcoin proof of work for exactly this purpose. And he touches on this a little bit in the interview. And though he ends up on the filters don't work side of the argument, which will bother those people on the other side, he does it with nuance and maturity. He doesn't mock the people who want to stop spam. He just points out why he thinks certain actions would be not only moot, but have second order effects that make the problem worse. Anyway, I don't know why I'm trying to mash my opinion into this.
