It’s that time again where we stay humble and work with Mother Nature to see when the best time to sail north is.
One thing about living upon the ocean is that there’s one true boss out here and it ain’t you or I it’s Mother Nature and the weather. It determines where you go and when you go and how easy that passage will be.
For sure you can argue and think you know better but she’ll soon put you in your place and teach you the hard lesson of being patient, not rushing and slowing down.
Starting to do the same but on a different coast. Currently in Florida, sailing home to Rochester on Lake Ontario. Erie canal doesn't open til Mid-May. Annapolis has boat show late April, so no real rush.
That’s the way “no rush” enjoy and hope you have smooth seas and fair winds.
That coast can be spicy highest wind we’ve had offshore was going around Hatteras a few years back 72kts!
Are you heading up the ICW?
72 knots around Hatteras sounds intense. ICW route makes sense for avoiding that chaos—do you prefer the inland calmer waters or does the ocean pull you back?
