Yes this is accurate to a point. I’d say roughly half the cars on the road today, periods more, are EVs.

German engineers are slow to adopt new ideas. But when they do adopt something after a longer period, they significantly improve it. I hope they'll do the same with electric cars. After all, Germany is 100 percent dependent on fossil fuels.
