Steam Next Fest impressions! O3: Hollow Descent A pretty straightforward bullet hell-ish top down shooter. The shooting is a bit pew pew in the demo but the dark sci-fi atmosphere is impeccable. The Infectious Madness of Dr. Dekker 2 It's crazy how well just having some overly dramatic people talk to eerie music works, at least on those who enjoy psychological drama like me. It didn't do anything too special, but I'm not removing it from my wishlist where it already was. Hypnos It has an incredibly bold visual style and language. It pleasantly reminded me of E.Y.E Divine Cybermancy. It uses some real-life occult symbolism I really didn't care for but I'm hoping they will steer this into a purely Lovecraftian direction which seems to be the idea. Alter Evo There is nothing about this that isn't amazing. When I'm looking for some indie jank, this is exactly what I want. Some indie games merely have soul in them, this is all soul all the time. It's one big monolithic block of soul. It's absolutely unclear if this is pure satire or you're meant to take this game seriously to an unknown, mysterious degree. I don't care. I haven't laughed this hard, this sincerely and this consistently at a game for a long time. It's peak schizo gaming and I'm SO here for it.
