pain and terror are great mnemonics
i just did a 1,000 mile drive over the past 4 days from NJ to Florida and as i was driving i suddenly recognized the shape of the road at the exact same spot where i was almost killed the last time i drove that same route over 2 months ago ...
there wasn't a sign or anything - it was just the way lanes shifted i immediately knew where i was - of course this time i was driving a car and not a truck so it was a lot easier to deal with the narrowing and shifting lanes due to construction ...
but it's crazy because you have 1,000 miles of road and you remember the exact spot where you almost died like it was a face and not just pavement ...
whenever i have a painful experience i always go to bed to wallow in misery and reflect - ON PURPOSE
i do not allow anything to distract me from the suffering required for growth
if somebody tries to cheer me up i LITERALLY ATTACK THEM because they are trying to rob me of the precious opportunity to learn that has come at a great cost and cannot be squandered !
you know what happens to people who can't feel pain ? they die in a ditch. they're called fentanyl junkies.
they die because they suppress their pain instead of listening to it.
