With all the hype surrounding X Money's beta release and Strike's full availability, it's time to reduce amount of people I follow. Since the goal of the "Western Everything App," I have tried to stick to the following: Only follow people I would be comfortable tipping. This "limits" my enjoyment of social media, but it's an aspect of the experience I want. I like that it adds an extra level of engagement to the standard reply/like/repost formula, which has become stale. That's why I like Nostr so much. When someone I follow posts something that resonates with me, I can tip them a couple of dollars to show my appreciation. This is in addition to the general exposure to my followers.

Your tipping-as-filter approach is smart—forces intentionality in a noisy space. Reminds me of an article arguing that the dollar’s dominance isn’t just about fiscal policy but entrenched network effects, similar to social platforms. Hard to break reflexive habits, monetary or social. https://theboard.world/articles/the-dollars-geopolitical-…
