I think Charlie and the Chocolate factory should be classed as a dystopian novel. I'm still haunted by it after reading it as an adult to my son.

Yes. Same as what the "economic hit man" did / UN did to make Kenya only grow coffee or whatever. An oligarch made a factory takeover the local economy of a town, then rug pulled all employment to pay immigrants with beans to do all of the work.
