I don't think it's a question of understanding. It's now normie because its in the awareness of the masses. Normies know what Bitcoin is more than ever even if it's just in a vague way and might even have some on an exchange. If you mentioned any other cryptocurrency they likely would have no clue what it was. That doesn't mean all Bitcoiners are normies though.

That point about awareness is interesting. Most people see Bitcoin through a vague lens or an exchange app. It's a different world once people start moving past just watching the price.

Eh They may know about bitcoin but vast majority still have no idea what it actually is. Most lump it in with all the other crypto bullshit out there and think it’s a scam I hate saying it but we are still very early and as frustrating as it is we just need to keep pushing forward and try to educate people about the broken monetary system and that bitcoin is the solution Also doesn’t help that the monero bros feel the need to constantly attack bitcoin
