If you believe in AI ability to automate most work, it only follows that the liberties afforded to workers (yes you are a worker) and tax payers suddenly isn't necessary anymore. The biggest war lord wins, as work itself becomes as easy to capture as nature resources. In that future, almost nothing matters more than politics, focusing on your personal work won't move the needle whatsoever. This doesn't mean you need to vote harder, it means you need to start learning how to understand and affect the only system that will matter going forward; governance at scale, aka politics. 📝 98a1152c…

If I understand you correctly, I would like to inform you that in dysfunctional states, most people only have income anyways because the government is inflated with useless employees as a form masked social welfare. That of course comes with a double advantage of buying loyalty. This gets much much worse when there is simply no work you can export over the internet since AI can do it all. Suddenly you have no income, everything is created at scale with the help of AI, and the state does it because they can, and don't need to cater to individuals. At best there will be few mega corporations mostly owned by the state. The China model will be the norm. The state needs you less as a worker, you really need them to need you as a voter, the alternative is quite literally genocide to get rid of useless eaters who are making a fuss.

Nostr doesn't magically make Politics irrelevant... he'll you can just go meat your neighbours... If anything the politics becomes the main thing you do most of your waking hours, and if you have better more scalable communications, more politics happen over these channels not less. Finally, local politics is not the only political concern, because you are not in an island, you still need to manage politics with the immediate neighbouring communities, as well as politics on your trading routes..etc. Basically just more of the same that human communities always had to deal with. If you ignore this, you just put your fate in someone else's hand out of cowardice, laziness, or cynicism that you convince yourself is rather because you are too smart for it.

If your local county is permitted to be corrupt, likely your state will be, which will cause your country to be. It's the same reason you cannot trust someone in politics who's personal life is in shambles. I didn't say local politics is the ONLY focus, but your immediate environment must be set straight first. No one is going to want to have trade routes with you if they are harassed whenever they come through/to your town. I didn't say nostr makes politics irrelevant, I said it's application in local politics is needed. Currently in many jurisdictions, it's difficult to even know what the existing law is. If those were open and signed that would be a benefit. Add blossom in the mix and you're getting somewhere

I agree that local politics should be prioritised... But this is not correct all the time, sometimes policies outside your local environment sets you up for failure no matter what you do locally. This is by the way why Americans are angry; the empire forces the people of the periphery to move to the center and compete with Americans, and the elites of the periphery are forced to middle into American politics and bribe politicians quite literally not to get bombed.
